My Target Experience

If any of you have taken my classes you know that I talk about "cashier profiling." My favorite cashier was on break at Target on Saturday so I went through a different line. It was horrible! I ended up asking her to stop the transaction, hand back the coupons and I waited for my favorite cashier to get back from break. The savings with coupons were definitely worth it.

Prices going up!

Check out this article about prices going up on Kimberly-Clark products. Some of these include Huggies and Kleenex Brands

Sweet Deals at City Deals

City Deals is having an April promotion!
  1. Enter in APRIL5FREE for %5 off your order and free shipping
  2. Then enter in MYFREECOUPON for an additional $5 off.
Let me know if you score any great deals! This is one of my favorites Great Harvest Bread CO. Remember once you get your gift cert from city deals you can usually combine them with coupons! Oh YEAH!

Where are the Bed Bath and Beyond Coupons?

I decided to stop in and chat with the manager of my local Bed Bath and Beyond and ask why there have not been any coupons sent out lately. He told me that corporate sends them out when they feel the stores need an extra influx of business, but we should see them quarterly. I love using Bed Bath and Beyond 20% off coupons for wedding gifts.

He also informed me that you can use as many 20% coupons as you have one per item!!! (for the Sandy, Utah BBAB). For instance you can go to the check-out with 4 coupons and four items and get 20% off each item. You can print off the Bed Bath and Beyond Coupon from their website here and print off one to use the next time you go.

Make your own Granola Bars!

I have tried this recipe many times and I love it! It's cheap and fast. I have a thing for oatmeal which means I love granola bars. If you come up with any variations let me know. I would love to try new ones. Here is the recipe:
  1. 1 cup honey
  2. 2/3 cup smooth peanut butter
  3. 2 2/3 cups rolled oats (I use quick oats)
  4. 1 cup whole wheat flour
  5. 1 tsp. cinnamon
  6. 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
  7. 1/3 cup wheat germ
  8. 2 cups mix-ins in any combination of the following: coconut, raisins, chocolate or carob chips, unsalted nuts, any finely chopped dried fruit such as dates, apricots, apples, etc.
  • mix honey and pb until smooth
  • stir oats, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, wheatgerm and mix-ins
  • if it seems to dry add a little bit of water 1 Tbs at a time
  • if it seems to sticky, add oatmeal 1 Tbs at a time
  • mixture should be slightly sticky but easy to spread
  • spread into a lightly greased 9x13 pan
  • bake at 350 until lightly brown (usually for me it is about 7 minutes)
  • Do not overbake!
  • cut while they are warm
  • when cool remove from the pan with a spatula
  • wrap each bar separately in plastic wrap and place in ziploc bags or air tight container
  • freeze the extras
Makes about 2 dozen bars

Pregnancy Resource Center

I had lunch with Tamera Anderson the Director of the SLC Pregnancy Resource Center. She is a wonderful woman who has dedicated her life to saving others and being there in times of need. I have had the chance to be with her a couple of times at different events. The PRC is a great organization.

The PRC helps young mothers-to-be with medical needs, offers support, and most of all creates a safe environment for them to ask questions. They have done a huge campaign on the University of Utah's Campus to make the students aware that the PRC is there for any woman who finds out that she is pregnant and needs help.

What does this have to do with couponing? The PRC provides diapers, formula, baby clothes, bottles and many other things that new moms need for the first year. There are always great deals on diapers and other baby items. In the paper last week there was a $5.00 off coupon for ready-serve Simulac. At Target the ready-serve Simulac was only $5.49. If you have four papers, grab four of these and start a donation box for the PRC. That would make each formula only .49!

They are always in need of:
  1. Diapers
  2. Bottles
  3. Formula
  4. Baby Clothing (infant sizes) gently used or new
Here is their link if you want so more information or know someone who is pregnant and needs help!

Chen's Noodle House

We had a "Girls Night Out" at Chen's Noodle House tonight. It was way yummy and the service was great! I thought that the prices were perfect for what you were served. It is kid friendly as well. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who lives in Utah County.
